Between 9 and 10 November, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg held a Bavaria-Russian conference for representatives of higher education institutions. The conference was supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Art of Bavaria, and the Bavarian Academic Centre for Central, Eastern and Souteastern Europe (BAYHOST).
Our university was represented by Irina Foret, Associate professor at the Department of Regional Studies and International Economies (the Faculty of International Relations).
The aim of the conference was to further develop collaboration between Russian and Bavarian universities, exchange experience, and suggest new ideas for research and academic collaboration. The main focus was on the promotion of joint research projects and empirical studies.
The participants also discussed the ways to establish and develop cooperation between universities, research centres, and commercial enterprises in Russia and in Bavaria. The conference also included consultations by experts from various academic organisations in Germany (DAAD, BAYHOST, Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR)).
