Partnership agreement with Ataturk University

On 29 November, as part of a Russian-Turkish business forum, the Governor of the Voronezh region, Alexey Gordeev, had a meeting with a delegation from Turkey, headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation, Hüseyin Dirioz. VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky also took part in the meeting.

A Russian-Turkish business forum was held in Voronezh between 29 and 30 November. Its major objective was to develop and strengthen the relations between Turkish and Russian universities and organisations by implementing joint projects.

Alexey Gordeev welcomed the guests and said that the Government of the Voronezh Region would support Russian-Turkish programmes and projects in the region.

“There are a number of areas, where we can develop the relations between the Voronezh Region and Turkey. These areas are industry, agriculture, medicine, and education. To bring our countries closer together, it is very important to promote culture and education. The Government of the Voronezh Region is eager to cooperate and will support our joint projects”, – said the governor.

The Ambassador of Turkey pointed out that collaboration between Turkey and our region may be very productive. He also suggested to create a joint Russian-Turkish university.

During the meeting rectors Dmitry Endovitsky and Ömer Çomakli signed a partnership agreement between Voronezh State University and Ataturk University. The agreement sets the terms of collaboration in science and education, academic exchange programmes, development of joint academic and research projects, and organisation of joint conferences and workshops.
