Between 24 and 27 September, staff from the Faculty of Philology of Voronezh State University participated in educational, cultural, and scientific events held in Armenian and Azerbaijan. The events were organised by the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs within the framework of the state contract with OOO “Otsenka kachestva obrazovaniya” (Education Quality Assessment). The aim was to promote, support and strengthen the position of the Russian language, and raise awareness of the Russian science, culture, and education.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Tatiana Ternova, gave a lecture on “Genres in the works of Alexander Solzhenitsyn”, which was attended by students of the Faculty of Russian Philology of Yerevan State University. She also organised a lesson for school children at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Yerevan.
Sergey Larin, Associate professor at the Department of Foreign Literature, gave a series of lectures on the literary works of Leo Tolstoy and Nikolay Chernyshevsky at Shirak State University named after Mikael Nalbandian (Gyumri, Armenia).
Anna Frolova, Associate professor at the Department of Russian Literature of XX–XXI Centuries, the Theory of Literature, and Folklore, held a workshop for the staff of the Department of Russian Language of Ganja State University (Azerbaijan), teachers of the Russian language and literature, and students of the Faculty of Philology.
All the events were dedicated to the anniversaries of prominent Russian writers, artists, and scientists, such as Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Fedor Tyutchev, Ivan Turgenev, Gavriil Derzhavin, Leo Tolstoy, Sergey Mikhalkov, etc.
