Anna Shesterina, professor at the Department of Television and Radio Journalism of Voronezh State University, won the competition “The best lecturer in the country”.
The competition is held annually by the Russian Foundation “Znaniye” in order to promote the profession and praise and promote the best teaching methods.
“In Russia, lecturing has a long history and established traditions. We hope that the competition can give lecturers an opportunity to receive wide recognition and increase the number of attendants”, – said Lyubov Dukhanina, Chair of the foundation, Deputy Head of the Committee for education and science of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
This year, lecturers from 55 Russian regions participated in the competition. Alla Shesterina took second place, and her lectures were praised by the jury as being up-to-date, modern, socially and practically important. They also praised the rhetorical skills of the lecturer.
“I owe this success to my teachers – professors Lev Kroichik, Larisa Polyakova, and Natalia Potanina. This competition was a great opportunity to share the achievements of our university with a wide audience. I hope this success will help us to develop such spheres as television and mediapsychology, and boost the public interest to the high level of teaching sustained by Voronezh State University”, – said Alla Shesterina.
