Between 27 and 30 November, the Associate Professor of the Chair of Digital Technologies of the Computer Science Department of VSU, Sergei Borzunov, and the leading engineer of the Supercomputer Centre of Voronezh State University, Alexander Romanov, participated in the National Supercomputer Forum which took place at the Ailamazyan Program Systems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Pereslavl Zalessky).
The forum was dedicated to the development and application of high performance technologies. It is one of the largest events in the supercomputer industry in Russia and over 230 specialists from 35 cities took part in it this year. The programme of the forum included the development of hardware and software, application of supercomputer technologies in science and industry, exascale computing, and BigData problems.
The report by Alexander Romanov attracted a lot of interest and provoked a vibrant discussion. It presented the results of calculations with the help of VSU’s supercomputer in the area of physical surface chemistry. Lenovo, Mellanox, T-Platforms, AMD, Immers, and TESIS presented the latest software and hardware solutions and technologies for high performance computations at the exhibition which was organised in the framework of the forum.
The active participation of the staff and students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences in one of the largest events in the supercomputer industry of Russia demonstrates the high level of training of information technology specialists at the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
