The university continues developing their relationship with the French Embassy in Russia

The Head of the Department of French Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology and the Director of the Regional French Centre, Elena Alexeyeva, visited the French Embassy in Moscow. She had a meeting with Elizabeth Brown, attache for cultural relations, Claudine Mocnik, attache for language policy, and Marianne Drobo, coordinator of the French Culture Foundation Alliance Française.

As a result of the meetings, VSU and the French Embassy signed an agreement according to which VSU will receive a lecturer of the French language. The participants also renewed the contract concerning the Centre for DELF/DALF International Examinations. The scope of its activities will be expanded as it will organise and hold a special certification examination for students of the bilingual Russian and French department of Nikitin gymnasium. They also discussed issues regarding the organisation of events dedicated to the Franco-Russian year of languages, literature, and translation and to VSU’s centenary.

Elena Alexeyeva also had a meeting with Vincent Benetom, Head of the Centre for French and Russian Studies of the Academy of Science of France. They discussed the possibilities of joint research projects.
