An innovative project by the scientist from Voronezh State University “Solid Water” became the winner of the contest by the Fund for Promotion of Innovations.
The aim of the programme is to support existing small innovative businesses that develop and produce new goods, products, technologies, and services. One of the distinguishing features of such businesses is that they use the results of their own research and development at the earliest stage when it has a high commercialisation potential.
Following the results of a competitive selection, the project of Voronezh State University “Solid Water” was approved by the administration of the Fund and received a 2 million roubles grant. At the moment, researches from two departments of the Faculty of Chemistry are involved in the project: Professor Vladimir Selemenev (the Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry) and Victor Semenov (the Head of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry). The project was initiated by the Rector of the university Dmitry Endovitsky. The new sorbents are synthesized by Professor Vyacheslav Kuznetsov of the Department of High Molecular Compounds and Colloids. Field tests of the sorbents were carried out at the test field of Voronezh State Agricultural University with Professor Alexey Lukin being in charge of the experiments.
