On 18 April, the Rector of Voronezh State University, Dmitry Endovitsky, had a meeting with representatives of the Federal research centre “Computer Sciences and Management” of the Russian Academy of Sciences – the Deputy Director, Alexander Zatsarinny and the Head of the Department of Computer Science Problems, Sergey Kozlov. Among other participants of the meeting were the Head of the Department of Communications and Mass Media of the Voronezh Region, Ilia Sakharov, and the First Deputy of the Head of the department, Grigory Ostapenko. Representatives of VSU included the Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Anatoly Bobreshov, and the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Eduard Algazinov.
The meeting was dedicated to the creation of an Information Centre for Digital Economics in Voronezh State University. Dmitry Endovitsky suggested that Alexander Zatsarinny head up the centre.
‘Voronezh is a unique city. We take 4th position after Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Kazan, by the number of IT companies and specialists. We have great potential. We are ready to cooperate with Voronezh State University and support its initiatives,’ said Ilia Sakharov.
‘Today, any research requires the skill to analyse huge amounts of information from various areas. That is exactly what digital economics demands,’ said Alexander Zatsarinny.
The goal of the information centre for digital economics which is going to be created in VSU will be to provide research and methodological support of digital economics in Russia and to train specialists.
A similar centre opened in autumn 2017 in Moscow State University. The Director of the Federal research centre “Computer Sciences and Management” of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Igor Sokolov bacame the Head of the National Centre of Digital Economics of Moscow State University.
The participants of the meeting discussed details and agreed to organise a meeting with representatives of Voronezh State University in the Centre of Moscow State University and to share professional experience.
