Voronezh State University entered the international Academic Ranking of World Universities – European Standard ARES – 2018. It took 21st place among over 180 Russian universities. VSU was assigned A+ category.
The ranking is based on the European standard of university education which was introduced by the European Association for Quality Assurance and the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education, approved by the European Commission. ARES helps to evaluate the ability of universities to provide students with the necessary knowledge, possibilities to carry out research, and communicate with future employers.
This ranking takes into account the following indicators: research, international cooperation, employers' demands for graduates, informatisation, international recognition of the academic staff, cooperation with employers, membership in European Academies of Science, awards by subdivisions of the European Chamber of Commerce and the European Commission. The ranking can not be affected by human interference and is processed by computers.
The A category is assigned to universities that demonstrate a high level of teaching, research activities, and employers' demands for their graduates.
This year, three Voronezh universities entered the ranking, VSU (21st position, A+ category, Voronezh State Technical University (40th position, BBB+ category), and Burdenko Voronezh State Medical University (46th position, BBB category).
