On 9 December, the RUR rankings (Research Performance World University Rankings) for social sciences was published. Voronezh State University takes 586th place among world universities and 30th among Russian universities. The authors of the ranking praised the high level of teaching and the distribution of the scientific developments by our scientists. For humanities, VSU was 502nd among world universities and 29th among Russian universities.
The experts again emphasised the flawless academic reputation and the impact of the VSU academic staff on the global academic community. The following five indicators are used to rank universities: teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability. Research Performance World University Rankings RUR has been evaluating the performance of higher education institutions from all over the world since 2010. Since then, the authors have analysed the results of 1,100 leading universities from 85 countries.
Additionally, VSU took 223rd place among the world universities in the “green” ranking “GreenMetric”; among Russian universities it was fifth. The experts assessed the “environmental compatibility” of the university against the following parameters: energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management and recycling, environment-friendly transportation policy, and the percentage of area on campus covered in vegetation. In addition, the indicators of education and research related to environment and sustainability are taken into account when creating the ranking.
