Every year on 25 May, African students of Voronezh State University celebrate the Day of Africa. This year, the VSU African Student Union headed by Ussumane Balde Hamadi, a student of the Faculty of Journalism, held a series of events dedicated to the day.
On 20 April, a scientific conference “Economic problems in Africa” was held. It included talks and presentations by students from Africa as well as from other countries. On 22 May, there was an exhibition of works of national African handicraft and a concert. Students from Africa and other countries studying in Voronezh universities sang national songs, performed energetic African, Arab, and Indonesian national dances, and presented bright national clothes from all over Africa.
The events were organised and held with the help of the Leisure and Culture Centre and administration of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University. The VSU African Student Union and the administration of the Institute of International Education express their gratitude to the Leisure and Culture Office of VSU for their contribution.
