The Botanical garden of the university will be awarded with a medal at the Voronezh international festival of gardens and flowers “Garden City” 2019

Between 5 and 8 September, Voronezh international festival of gardens and flowers “Garden City” 2019 took place in the Central Park for Recreation and Leisure. Voronezh State University was represented at the event by the Professor Kozo-Polyansky Botanical Garden. It took part in the nomination “Little garden” with its project “Green dressing room”.

“We started preparing for the festival in May. We had loads of ideas on various themes, including Voronezh poets and writers and D.I. Mendeleyev’s periodic table. However, we decided to start with the theatre. We created interior design items, grew material to make our composition look like a piece of a natural landscape.

According to the decision of the jury, the exhibit took third place and was awarded with the bronze medal. The committee was impressed by the performance, which was even attended by Melpomene, the muse of tragedy. The guests of the festival queued to take a photo of themselves in front of a luxurious full-length dressing mirror and a folding screen with peacocks painted by Svetlana Yunga. They also tried on theatre masks decorated in vegetation patterns and elements.
