VSU Publishing House has published a collection of articles and interviews “Rektorsky Vektor” (Rector’s Vector) dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Dmitry Endovitsky, Rector of Voronezh State University.
The book consists of five chapters: “Higher education in Russia”, “Higher education at VSU”, “Of books and men”, “Interview”, and “Information section”. They include speeches in the media, interviews, and research by Professor Dmitry Endovitsky, DSc in Economy, chairperson of the Council of Rectors of the Voronezh Region and the Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Central Black Earth Region, and Vice-President of the Russian Union of Rectors. All the materials are dedicated to the issues of higher education and VSU activities between 2011 and 2020. At the beginning of the book, there are articles by Alexander Gusev, the Governor of the Voronezh Region, and Viktor Sadovnichy, the Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
“The book is published to mark the 50th anniversary of Dmitry Endovitsky. I am sure that a wide audience will be interested to learn about his views on what occupies the minds of university staff in the Voronezh Region. The university staff are a crucial part of our society which has a huge impact on our present and future”, said Alexander Gusev.
“Newspaper articles by Dmitry Endovitsky are addressed to people working in higher education and areas related to it. I hope these publications will contribute to the enhancement of efficiency and quality at universities. To my mind, the book has a very thorough structure: it describes the challenges in higher education and the approaches to their solutions, it talks about the experiences of Voronezh State University, its people, and books about them. To work today and to think about the future is the approach used by the most prominent rectors of Russian universities. And Dmitry Endovitsky is, without a doubt, one of them”, said Viktor Sadovnichy.
The book is aimed at those whose interests are in education and science.
