On 3 December, the Delegation of the European Union in the Russian Federation held a meeting for the heads of the Centres for European Union Studies. The agenda of the event included discussion of the results and plans for the centres’ activities for the next year.
The Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation, Marcus Ederer, started the meeting with congratulating the Rector of Voronezh State University, Dmitry Endovitsky, with his 50th anniversary. He acknowledged his active engagement in the development of the scientific and educational cooperation with the EU. Dmitry Endovitsky presented the main areas of activities of the Centre for EU Studies at VSU. He noted that following the results of the Erasmus+ contests the European Commission supported the VSU project to create the Centre for EU Studies “Russia – EU: Facts and Fantasy”. Such a project is absolutely unique within Russia. Dmitry Endovitsky confirmed that VSU is ready to hold the international conference “Russia – Ukraine: education and public diplomacy as factors for regional security” in Voronezh in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union in the Russian Federation.
Among the participants of the meeting were representatives from 14 Centres for EU Studies at Russian universities such as Tomsk State University, Kazan Federal University, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Baltic Federal University, Ural Federal University, Southern Federal University, Perm State National Research University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and others.
