Between 8 and 9 February, the second open programming and computer security competitions of VrnCTF were held in the main building of Voronezh state University. They were organised by the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU in cooperation with Russian Air Force Military Educational and Scientific Centre “Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy". Among the partners and sponsors of the event were: Voronezh Region Digital Development Department, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh Region, AO “Concern Sozvezdiye”, the Federal Autonomous Organization “State Scientific Research Test Institute of the Technical Information Protection” at the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, AO NPO “Bezopasnost informatsionnykh sistem” (Voronezh), League of Digital Economy (Voronezh), OOO TEKHNOMARKET (Voronezh), “DataArt” (Voronezh). ZAO “INLINE GROUP ZENTR” (Voronezh), DSR Corporation, Atos, and others.
Fourteen teams from nine Voronezh universities (including five teams from VSU) and two teams from Bauman Moscow State University took part in the competitions. The number of participants exceeded 150 people.
The first day was dedicated to two leagues of individual programming competitions. The second day involved team based computer security competitions VrnCTF which were held with the support of the international non-governmental organization “Association of Administrators of Information Security Services” (Moscow). First place was taken by the team “Dropout Squadron” (Faculty of Computer Sciences and Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics of Voronezh State University), “DnO” (Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy) were second, and “Captain Trying Fight” (Bauman Moscow State Technical University) were third.
The event proved that our students are well-trained in the area of programming and cyber security.
