Between 14 and 15 February, Alexander Zhitenev, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Philology, participated in the international scientific conference “Political performativity in contemporary Russian poetry” which took place at the Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany).
The conference was organised by the centre of advanced research “Russian lyrical poetry in transition” (DFG-Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe FOR 2603) of the University of Trier and Giessen Centre for Eastern European Studies (GiZo) at the Justus Liebig University Giessen. Among the participants of the conference were researchers from Germany, Austria, the USA, Switzerland, Estonia, Russia, and Kazakhstan. The event was focused on the interrelation of politics and poetry in the cultural environment of the contemporary Russia, Latvia, and Kazakhstan, and performatory and media forms of poetry.
Alexander Zhitenev, who is currently an invited researcher at the University of Trier, gave a talk dedicated to the performativity in contemporary Russian feminist poetry.
