A coach from the university swimming school wins 4 gold medals at the Tavrida Cup

On 21 and 22 February, Tatiana Prokofieva, a coach from the VSU swimming school, won four gold medals at the 3rd Open Cup of the Republic of Crimea “Tavrida Cup”. The Masters competitions were held in Yevpatoriya.

Tatiana Prokofieva was the winner in the 50-meter, 100-meter, and 200-meter breaststroke and the 200-meter medley. According to the ranking of the international swimming federation FINA for the Masters category, in 2020, Tatiana Prokofieva was first in the world for the 200-meter breaststroke, second in the 100-meter breaststroke, and fourth for the 50-meter breaststroke. According to the world ranking for the period between 1989 and 2020, Tatiana Prokofieva takes fourth place in the world for 200-meter breaststroke and tenth place for the 100-meter breaststroke.

All in all, 250 athletes from all over Russia took part in the competitions.
