On 4 March, a meeting was held by the board of leaders of VSU foreign student fraternities at the International Education Institute of VSU. The participants discussed the issues concerning accommodation at the halls of residence, the organisation of the online festival of national creativity among students of pre-university distance learning programmes, and the election of the new Praesidium of the VSU African Student Union.
Leili Aslanova, the head of hall of residence No. 7, reminded the students about the accommodation rules at VSU's halls of residence. The participants of the meeting discussed several cases of non-compliance with the regulations by international students. The leaders of the fraternities approved and supported the proposal of Nadezhda Shabunina, the Head of the Extra-Curricular Department at the International Education Institute of Voronezh State University, to continue holding online events for distance learning students. The leaders of fraternities of African students set the dates for the elections and for the celebration of Africa Day.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of tolerance and inter-ethnic relations and combating extremism among students. Mviri Josy Prince, the leader of fraternities of Congolese students was happy to admit that in recent years there have been no known racial or ethnic tensions at the halls of residence of VSU and in Voronezh as a whole. Musa Belliyev, the leader of fraternities of Turkmen students thanked the administration of the International Education Institute of VSU for holding interesting events aimed at ensuring safety and providing a comfortable learning and living environment for foreign students in Voronezh.
