On 14 March, Voronezh State University was awarded with the status of the centre for the WorldSkills Russia demo exam (Accounting, number of workplaces – 10), which is certified by an electronic certificate.
The WorldSkills demo exam is a kind of final state examination for graduates of secondary vocational education programmes in educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational education, which simulates real conditions in production environments.
The graduates who have passed the demo exam have the opportunity to confirm without any additional certification tests that their knowledge and skills meet the federal state educational standards and that their qualifications meet the requirements of the international WorldSkills standards. They can also confirm that their qualifications meet certain professional modules that are in demand by employers and can get a job offer when they graduate from university. Together with a diploma of secondary vocational education they can receive a Skills Passport, a document confirming that the level of their professional competences corresponds to the WorldSkills Russia standards. All graduates who have passed the exam and have received a Skills Passport shall be entered in a database of young professionals, access to which is provided to all leading employers which recognise the demo exam. Thus, the employers will be able to search for and select employees.
For educational organisations, conducting certification tests in the format of the demo exam is the opportunity to objectively assess the content and the quality of their educational programmes, academic facilities, the level of the teaching staff qualifications, and the opportunity to determine growth points and the areas for further development in accordance with the modern requirements of the international labour market.
