Our university is a member of the Forum of Russian and French universities

On 12 March, VSU took part in the meeting of the Coordinating Council for the 7th Forum of Humanitarian Universities and Humanitarian Faculties in Russia and France. VSU is a constant participant of the Forum, which brings together Russian and French universities involved in active bilateral cooperation. The meeting of the Coordinating Committee was held as an online conference "Educational cooperation between Russia and France during the pandemic: strategy and prospects”. It was held under the auspices of the Russian Rectors' Union and the Conference of Presidents of French Universities with the support of the French Embassy in Russia, the Russian and French platform of the Trianon dialogue, and Rossotrudnichestvo. Among VSU representatives at the meeting of the Coordinating Council were Elena Alexeyeva, the Head of the Department of French Philology, and Alla Akulshina, the Head of Department of International Cooperation.

In accordance with the existing treaties and agreements between the Russian Federation and the French Republic, the goal of the online conference was to set the agenda for the 7th Forum which will take place in autumn of 2021 in Toulouse (France). The focus was on the discussion of such important issues as the development of bilateral and multilateral scientific and educational cooperation in a digital format within the constraints of the coronavirus pandemic, a further expansion and improvement of mechanisms for the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects, including online projects, and the prospects for increasing the scope of academic exchange programmes.
