On 9 May, a festive concert dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War took place near Koltsov Voronezh Drama Theatre. The event was held for the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, citizens, and guests of the city. At the invitation of the organisers of the concert, the Voronezh Municipal Government Coordinating Council for International and Interreligious Relations, international students from VSU took part in the event. Vietnamese students congratulated the citizens of Voronezh and presented their national dance and students from Turkmenistan performed the Russian dance “Rivulet”. The songs “A dark night” and “An unexpected waltz” performed by Nguetta Irenee Christian from Cote d'Ivoire and Rilani Ezekiel Oluwaseun from Nigeria were especially touching.
On 12 May, international students from VSU took part in the traditional festive event “Different nations, one victory” prepared by the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh region with the support of the International Education Institute of VSU. This event, dedicated to Victory Day, took place in the university concert hall. Students from Madagascar, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Algeria, and Indonesia sang war-time songs in Russian. All performances by international students were prepared by the staff of the cultural and leisure centre of the International Education Institute in VSU.
