By rail

Voronezh has excellent rail links to all parts of Russia.

The main station, Voronezh 1, is a walking distance from the city centre.

Voronezh is an eight to ten hours’ journey from Moscow. The best way to get here is to catch the overnight train, leaving Moscow in the evening and arriving in Voronezh in the morning. There are many trains to and from Moscow every day. The most suitable options are the day train #45 (less than 8 hours) and the night trains #25 and #81/83.

There are great links to other cities too.

By air

Voronezh International Airport is about 13km from the edge of town, and around 30 minutes drive from the city centre.

There are regular daily flights to and from Moscow. In case there’s no direct flight from your home city or country to Voronezh, you can travel to Moscow and then take another plane/train/bus/car to Voronezh.

By road

If you are travelling on a budget, buses are often your best bet. Voronezh is well placed (about 500km to the South of Moscow) on the M4 motorway network so getting here by bus or coach is easy with regular services from Moscow and many other Russian cities.

Travel times by road are less than you might think. From Moscow it is around 6 hours.

The cost of the bus from Moscow is approximately the same as the cheapest train ticket (and the latter provides more comfortable travel conditions). You can catch a bus to Voronezh near Moscow Paveletskaya train station. In Voronezh the bus stops near Pyramide (Pamyatnik Slavi) and terminates near Voronezh 1 train station.
