Geology

General information

Today, the Faculty of Geology is a major research and development complex combining traditional fundamental education and modern methods of researching the Earth's interior. The main social aims of geology are to provide humanity with mineral raw materials, energy, and water, as well as to prevent or avert geological disasters.

Founded in 1934

Field work Annual educational and field training at the Faculty of Geology is aimed at improving the students’ theoretical skills and putting them into practice, as well as seeing amazing new places. The educational training is conducted in the Republic of Adygea, Crimea, the Krasnodar and Voronezh regions. The students get their field experience in various parts of Russia, such as the Kola peninsula, the Arkhangelsk region, the Stavropol territory, the Polar and South Ural mountains, the Altai territory, Buryatia, the Chukchi peninsula, Yakutiya, the Kamchatka peninsula, and many other regions.
International cooperation in the sphere of education
International students About 5 international students annually complete various educational programmes at the Faculty.
