Russian as a Foreign Language Extended Education Programme (1170 academic hours)

The duration of the most extensive programme is one academic year (2 terms, i.e. 10 months). It includes linguistic and linguo-cultural subjects in equal proportions and is best suited to students who specialize in the Russian language, as well as for those who would like to have an in-depth understanding of the various aspects of the Russian language and culture. With this programme students will receive 20 to 25 classroom hours a week. Owing to the extended duration of the course, the students have a chance to combine their studies with various extra-curricular activities, including research, cultural, educational, and leisure activities.

Russian as a Foreign Language Extended Education Programme (585 academic hours)

The duration of the programme is one term, which is 5 to 6 months. The course may be extended for another term at the request of a student if the educational institution that sent them for training agrees to it. With this programme students will receive 26 to 28 classroom hours a week, and the in-depth linguistic training is combined with the study of linguo-cultural subjects, which allows students to develop a comprehensive understanding of Russia, its language and culture.

Russian as a Foreign Language Extended Education Programme (390 academic hours)

This short programme is the preferred option for those who can’t allocate more than three months to the study of the language, or for those who plan to combine learning Russian with rigorous studies at one of the departments of the Voronezh State University. With this programme students will receive 26 to 28 classroom hours a week. When combined with the main education programme the total teaching load is distributed over a longer period, therefore, the number of classroom hours a week may be reduced to 12–16 hours. The share of linguo-cultural subjects in this case is larger, as the studies undertaken in Russian provide extensive practice of the language. Students may also participate in various types of extra-curricular activities organized by the Institute of International Education.
