  • Students at the faculty are trained for employment in the leading regional companies. Accommodation in the dormitory is provided to students from other cities and countries.

The history of the faculty goes back to 1918, when the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics was opened among the first faculties of Voronezh State University. The Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics was founded in 1969 following the split-off of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics and the Faculty of Mathematics. The faculty was founded mainly thanks to the efforts of the famous scientist, Professor G.I. Bykovtsev, who became its first dean. The faculty was formed as a result the rapid development of computer technology and the growing demand for specialists who were able to apply it in scientific, industrial, and other spheres of human activity.
