Academic Staff

Academic staff at the faculty consists of 41 people, including 3 professors, 13 associate professors, 18 assistants, 5 lectures, and 2 senior lecturers.

Academic staff members from other VSU faculties (116) are also engaged in the educational process. Among them, 73% have an academic degree and 26% have a title, including 18% of staff members with a DSc degree and 8% of professors.

The active involvement of representatives of employers is an indispensable condition for the implementation of the educational process.

Key areas of research

  • Studying bioequivalence of generics by means of the biowaiver procedure and the dissolution test.
  • Standardisation of medicinal plant raw materials and herbal medicines based on them.
  • Development of the composition, production technology, and standardisation methods and biopharmaceutical studies of new dosage forms with a nootropic, antidiabetic, wound healing, and antibacterial activity.
  • Formulation and standardisation of immobilised forms of drugs of different groups (P.M. Karlov).
  • Ecological assessment of medicinal plant raw materials in the Central Black Earth Region.
  • Studying solid dispersion systems and obtaining dosage forms based on them.
  • Studying specific features of marketing and management in the pharmaceutical business.
  • Studying issues of professional training and rational management of pharmaceutical specialists.
  • Pharmacognostic studies of new, unconventional plants as potential sources of new medicines.
  • Non-clinical studies of medicinal products, including studying wound healing, gastroprotective, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, anti-inflammatory, analgetic, and adaptogenic properties.

International programmes and projects

  • Joint research projects, conferences, student exchange programmes, and internships as part of the international cooperation with Bionorica SE pharmaceutical company (Europe).
  • International project “Piloting ECVET to the national VET system of Russia and Uzbekistan” as part of the Erasmus+ programme “Capacity Building in Higher Education”.
  • Cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmaceutics at the University of Zagreb (Croatia) as part of the Erasmus+ programme “Credit Mobility”.
  • Professional training as part of the international student exchange programme with the Faculty of Pharmaceutics at Tartu University (Estonia), including one-term programmes in English which provide an opportunity to receive a Sommerkurse DAAD grant.
