Our lecturers take part in transatlantic symposium

01.06.2010 15:50

A prestigious transatlantic symposium "Nabokov and translation" took place in the University Lille (France). The event was organised by the University Lille (France) in cooperation with the University of North Carolina (USA) and with the support of the French Nabokov society.

Among the participants of the symposium were representatives of French universities (Sorbonne, University Lille, University of Strasbourg, University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and Bordeaux University), the USA (the University of Oregon, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Virginia), Russia, and independent researchers from Italy, Canada, and the UK.

Voronezh State University was represented by a lecturer from the Department of the Translatology and Intercultural Communication of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, Yulia Dymant, and Associate Professor Elena Knyazheva, who presented their report "Metacommunication in translations and author's translations of works by V.V. Nabokov". The approach and the results of the research attracted a lot of interest among international colleagues.
