Voronezh State University has been ranked 18th among 100 best universities training graduates for the media industry, according to the rating put together by the Ministry of Communications and Media.
The rating was based on a survey of employers representing 110 companies – both in the Voronezh region and in Moscow. According to the Ministry of Communications and Media, universities were included in the rating on account of the average State Exam results (per subject) of the students accepted to the course in 2014. Both state-financed and fee-paying students were taken into account. The top-three universities were Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
– We feel very proud of our Faculty of Journalism. At VSU, there are faculties which set standards that everyone else must strive to achieve as well. For instance, the university was recently ranked 20th in the Top-50 universities in the sphere of Economics and Management training published by the "Expert Rating Agency" (RAEX). We are expecting good results from the other faculties as well. The position of a university in various rankings has a profound impact on how likely its graduates are to find jobs. Specialised ministries and departments, alongside social and professional employers' organizations have become increasingly engaged in ranking and monitoring the quality of specialist training, VSU Rector Prof. Endovitskyy noted.
