On 5 February, VSU Rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, had a meeting with the representatives of the Novovoronezh nuclear power station – Oleg Urazov, Acting Deputy Director of Human Resources, and Alexander Danilov, the director’s assistant.
On behalf of VSU, the meeting was also attended by Alexey Kharin, Head of the VSU Department of Innovations and Enterprise Management, Viktor Vakhtel, Associate Professor of the Department of Nuclear Physics of the Faculty of Physics, and Elena Ivashinenko, Head of the Career Development and Business Partnership Department.
The meeting discussed the opening of a regional education centre at the university.
Since the state atomic energy corporation “Rosatom” joined the international market for the construction of nuclear power stations, there has been a great demand for highly qualified specialists both on local and international scales. The Novovoronezh nuclear power station currently runs a project office “International Centre for Personnel Training”.
Dmitry Endovitsky made a presentation about the networking between universities and prospective employers. He talked about the major forms of cooperation between VSU and the region’s leading enterprises, and presented a number of successful projects.
“We are eager to train qualified specialists for the Novovoronezh nuclear power station, Rosenergoatom, and the Russian atomic industry in general,” said the rector.
“Rosatom needs about 5,000 specialists to be trained at universities within the next few years. Our country is currently unable to provide the atomic sector with such a number of specialists. Therefore, VSU may become one of the universities that will provide human resources for Rosatom,” – said Alexander Danilov.
The details of the future partnership are currently being discussed by the participants of the meeting.
