The Moscow international forum of innovative development "Open innovations 2018" which took place in Skolkovo technopark achieved a record-high. This year, it gathered 20 thousand participants from 90 countries. Voronezh State University took part in the event.
The topic of the forum was "Sources for a Technological Breakthrough". This year, the event lasted three days, each of which was dedicated to its own topic: "HR and education", "Business and State", and "Science and Technologies". The programme of the event consisted of over 200 events: panel sessions, conferences, "round table" discussions, and presentations of innovative projects and programmes. Over 220 projects in 11 industrial sectors were presented by young entrepreneurs at the StartUp and iMarket space.
The speakers of the forum included representatives of governmental authorities and business, heads of large companies, researchers, and experts in the area of high technologies, education, R&D, and investment.
Among the participants of the event were the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, the Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Maxim Akimov, the mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, the President of the Skolkovo foundation, Viktor Vekselberg, Co-chair of the Skolkovo foundation board, chair of the Skolkovo foundation, Arkady Dvorkovich.
The representatives of VSU, the leading engineer, Anastasia Kharina, and the Director of VSU's innovation business incubator, Alexander Khvan, took part in a special business programme by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation. Within the "round table" discussion "HR for Innovative Economy. Preparing HR for Research Activities", they presented the project "League of Innovations", the unique preaccelerator of innovative university's ecosystem. The university's innovative developments "Fuel Injection Stimulation System" and "Innovative Development of Thermomechanical Preprocessing Aimed at Enhancing the Power of Cutting Tools" were presented at the stand of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation".
VSU's employees met their counterparts from other universities and discussed the development of their cooperation and took part in various workshops and discussions dedicated to new tasks in the area of digitizing which will enhance economy, social services, and state management.
"Every year, we take an active part in the forum because it is the unique discussion platform which unites technological entrepreneurs, scientists, leading experts, students, representatives of authorities and corporations from various countries and regions. Here we meet the beginner entrepreneurs, young researchers, and engineers who will change our future. Such events also make it possible to show and talk about the contribution of our university to the innovative development of the country. Now that we are facing new tasks in the area of digitizing of economy, VSU is implementing digital transformation with the help of advanced methods based on collaboration between education, science, business, and state," said Alexander Khvan.
