The competition jury of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation finalized the results of 2019 competitions for receiving grants of the President of the Russian Federation for support of young Russian scientists with PhD degrees and young Russian scientists with DSc degrees. 5 VSU staff members were among the winners.

In the area “Physics and Astronomy” grants were given to Dmitry Golostchapov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, for his project “Development of Structure and Morpho- Similar Biochemical Materials Comparable to Enamelum and Dental Tissue of a Human Tooth with Stable Binding and Integration in the Mineral and Organic Complex “Tooth/Biocomposite”” and Tamara Kondratenko, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, for her project “Photoprocesses in Hybrid Associates of Ag2S Colloid Quantum Dots and the Indocyanine Green Dye Used for Theranostics of Oncological Diseases”. Dmitry Prosvetsky, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, became a winner in the area “Technical and Engineering Sciences”. He submitted “Holographic Technique for the Space-Time Processing of Sound Underwater Signals in Shallow-Water Ocean Waveguides”. Mikhail Syromyatnikov, PhD in Biology, received a grant in the area “Agricultural Sciences” for his project “Study of Protective Qualities of Methylene Blue in Case of Intoxication of Pollinating Insects by Pesticides”. Pavel Seredin, DSc in Physics and Mathematics, became a winner in the area “Physics and Astronomy” with his project “Highly Functional Hybrid Epitaxial Nanoheterostructures Based on A3B5 Semiconductor Compounds, A3N Nitrides, and Porous Silicon”.

“Young researchers of VSU traditionally show good results in contests for grants of the President of the Russian Federation. However, this year the number of representatives of the university among the winners is much higher than last year,” said Vice Rector for Research and Innovations, Oleg Kozaderov. “It happened because of the more active involvement of young scholars from VSU in the contest in 2019. Their success can be explained by their impressive scientific potential which manifested itself in publications in highly ranked journals indexed Web of Science and Scopus. Such publications is one of the key criterion considered during expert examination of grant applications.
