Between 6 and 11 October, a coordination meeting on the international Erasmus+ project "Human Resource Development and the Cooperation between Urban and Rural Areas for Sustainable Development of Metropolises" was held at the University of Göttingen (Germany). Representatives from all partner universities took part in the event: Voronezh State University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University, Nanjing Forestry University (China), Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University (China), Wageningen University (the Netherlands), the University of Göttingen (Germany), and Tuscia University (Viterbo, Italy).
The delegation from VSU included the manager of the project and Head of the Department of Ecology and Land Resources of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Tatiana Devyatova, and Associate Professor at the Department of Ecology and Land Resources, Lilia Alayeva.
The meeting discussed the online courses that are organised as part of student exchange programmes between partner universities, the results of the pilot project of the Department of Ecology and Land Resources of VSU aimed at training environmentalists, as well as the schedule for the second round of internships of master's degree students from partner universities.
Academic staff from the Department of Ecology and Land Resources of VSU were also invited to participate in two international projects. The first focuses on the way green infrastructure and metropolises effect each other. The second project concerns the introduction of smart technologies for monitoring, modelling, and evaluating green infrastructure in metropolises and decision making aimed at sustainable development of urban areas.
