Specialists from Voronezh State University will take part in the development of a further professional education programme “Production of nanoelectronic devices using new materials and high-tech equipment”. The developer of the programme, the Centre for Qualification Assessment and Development of the Research Institute for Molecular Electronics (NIIME), was determined in a competition organised by the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs.

The project will meet the needs of high-tech enterprises and the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs. The programme is aimed at improving the qualifications of the employees of technology-intensive industries. It will also be implemented within the main academic programmes at universities in Russia.

Besides VSU specialists, other participants of the project include leading scientists and specialists from AO NIIME and AO Mikron, academic staff members of National Research University of Electronic Technology, Southern Federal University, and Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics. Over 30 employees of partner enterprises, including AO NIITM, AO Mikron, AO NPO Avtomatiki, etc., will complete the programme and assess their qualification level afterwards.

“The programme will help to complete the task of introducing innovative projects in the area of semiconductor technologies using new materials and equipment. It will also allow the training of specialists who are competent in advanced technologies for the production of nanoscale integrated circuits for promising production technologies”, said Liliana Polikarpova, the coordinator of the projects and Head of the Centre for Qualification Assessment and Development of NIIME.

“It is a great opportunity to promote the university at the federal level and develop an education programme that will focus on the production of nano- and micro electronic devices and will comply with the modern requirements”, said Dmitry Zhukalin, Head of the VSU examination centre.

The education centre of NIIME is an education division of the NIIME group, which also includes the Centre for Qualification Assessment and Development of NIIME. Since 2017 the centre has been performing inplant and outplant training of the employees. It also carries out specialised educational projects focusing on technologies.

The examination centre of independent assessment of nanoindustry qualifications was created at the Department of Semiconductor Physics and Microelectronics at the Faculty of Physics in 2018. The VSU examination centre receives organisational and methodological support from the Centre for Qualification Assessment in Nanoindustry of the Research Institute for Molecular Electronics as well as from the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programmes (RUSNANO).
