Vietnamese graduates of the Faculty of Geology of VSU who studied at the university in 1967–1972, had a reunion 50 years after their graduation. The reunion was held in Vietnam.
Out of the seven graduates there are only five now. They are all retired.
“Over the five years that we studied at VSU, we always received huge support form the university administration, teachers, staff, and soviet students. I am proud that I had an opportunity to meet people of the forst socialist country in the world, to get to know its culture and science”, wrote Ta Hoa Phuong, then a five-year student in a university paper in 1970s.
Today he is a professor at Vietnam National University in Hanoi and the director if the Paleontological Institute. In his free time he translates Russian poetry into Vietnamese. He sends his best regards to Voronezh State University:
“We still miss the university, and feel grateful to our teachers, who taught us to be valuable members of the society. I send my best regards to the university administration and to our colleagues at the Faculty of Geology.”
