On 30 September, VSU and Rosatom Technical Academy signed an agreement on the creation of a fundamental department. The meeting was held in the White Hall of the main university building. VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky talked about the university and its structure, about the opportunities for development, and about the Faculty of Physics.
“Just today we got the news that Voronezh State University has been accepted to the programme of development of micro and radioelectronics. We are collaborating in this field with Sozvezdie concern and Eletronica enterprises in the Levoberezhny District. Just today a decision was made to devote funds to synchrotron and neutron studies. We are focused on a unique type of equipment that cannot be found in Russia so far. VSU is becoming a centre of attraction for serious science. International companies open their training centres at our university. Of course, we would like to see Rosatom Technical Academy among them. We have all the opportunities for that,” said Dmitry Endovitsky.
Yuri Seleznev, Rector of Rosatom Technical Academy:
“Today there is a demand for nuclear experts in different regions of our country where we have nuclear power stations. But it is impossible to train all the specialists in Moscow. Thus, it’s very important to have a regional university that trains nuclear experts. The state corporation “Rosatom” has formed a pool of flagship universities that train specialists for regional nuclear power stations. Our department will become a part of the general university process.”
