Konstantin Titov, Associate Professor at the Department of Radiophysics of the Faculty of Physics at VSU, won the annual national contest “Engineer of the Year” in the category “Young Engineers” (“Radio Engineering, Electronics, and Communication”). The contest evaluates the performance of engineers employed in companies, organisations, and institutions. It reveals the best engineers in the country, promotes engineering, highlights the achievements and experience of Russian engineers, and draws attention to the problems of engineering in Russia.
The contest is organised by the International and Russian Unions of Research and Engineering Public Organisations, the Prokhorov Academy of Engineering Sciences, and the Interregional Public Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Progress. The jury and expert committees of the contest consist of leading scholars from the Russian Academy of Sciences as well as engineers and specialists from various sectors of the economy.
The “Engineer of the Year” is held in two categories:
- “Young Engineers” for young specialists aged up to 30 (inclusive),
- “Professional Engineers” for specialists with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
Participants shall provide a profile to the committee reflecting all the achievements and accomplishments of the competitor. Based on the analysis of the files, the committee decides on the winners.
“It was an honour to win the regional contest and to represent the Voronezh region’s engineering community at the national stage. The level of participants in the contest was extremely high, but the results of my research activities in recent years allowed me to win the competition in the relevant nomination. The certificate of the “Professional Engineer of Russia” summarises my research and engineering achievements at the “Young Engineers” level. The next step is the “Professional Engineers” category, where we will have to compete with internationally renowned inventors and scientists,” said Konstantin Titov.
