On 19 March, students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology at VSU and Yana Pashkova, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, visited children evacuated from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. The children are currently accommodated at the Goluboy Ekran (Blue Screen) children’s camp.
Representatives of the university organised a psychotherapeutic game with two stages:
- Body psychotherapy. Each child was assigned a student volunteer to carry out emotional release exercises (“Lemon”, “Ice Cream”, etc.).
- Painting with finger paints.
“The children were very interested in the play activities. They were particularly enthusiastic about finger painting,” said Yana Pashkova.
VSU students have been helping refugees since the end of February. A collection campaign was organised at VSU, which resulted in 50 boxes of humanitarian aid in a fortnight. Furthermore, the Situation Centre for Hotline Support for Students was organised.
