On 15 February, the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology was visited by Shukry Marash-Ogly, Dean of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty of Osh State University.
Shukry Marash-Ogly had a meeting with the lecturers of VSU and discussed the formats of cooperation between the faculty and Osh State University. Together with Elena Alekseeva, Head of the Department of French Philology, and Yulia Pustovalova, international activity coordinator, the partners agreed to draw up a roadmap for cooperation. It will include interaction in the scientific and cultural domains of the universities.
The Osh State University representative also spoke to the students. The students were shown a promo video about the OshSU campus, extra-university activities, and opportunities of the university. First year students of VSU were introduced to the multilevel education system of the Kyrgyz university and learned about the prospects of student exchanges. After the meeting, some VSU students considered getting an academic experience abroad.
“We learned many interesting facts about OshSU from the presentation. The university is the largest in Central Asia. It is located in an ancient city in the Fergana Valley,” said Ekaterina Melnikova, a student from the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology.
“The Osh university has a pool of experienced lecturers, it provides high-demand students. The university’s International Centre cooperates with many exchange programmes, including Erasmus+. I was interested in Shukry Marash-Ogly’s words: I wouldn’t mind visiting Osh State University and having the opportunity to study there. I’m grateful to VSU for the opportunity to get acquainted with representatives of different universities!” noted Daria Parinova, a student from the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology.
