On 12 April, a meeting was held between Rector Dmitry Endovitsky and the vice-rector and dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Turon Zarmed University (Uzbekistan) Anvar Shadiev in the White Hall of the main building of Voronezh State University. The representatives of the two universities signed a framework agreement and discussed joint education programmes.
The first meeting was held on March 7th. Voronezh State University and Turon Zarmed University are now to develop network double degree programmes. Students from Uzbekistan will be able to enrol on a pharmacy programme, health care accounting, control, and analysis programme, business economics programme, and corporate management programme.
“I’m glad that administration of the Turon Zarmed University chose VSU to be their partner. We still have a long way ahead of us. We need to open at least some of the said joint programmes to lay the foundation for a strong full-scale partnership. We support your dedication to become the leading university in Uzbekistan”, said Dmitry Endovitsky.
Anvar Shadiev thanked the rector for a warm welcome and invited him to take part in the opening ceremony of a new building of the Turon Zarmed University in Samarkand. The dean of the Faculty of Medicine said that the new building is to be opened on September 5th.
“We would like to see your university as our business partner”, said Anvar Shadiev.
The parties pointed out that this partnership is in line with the policies of the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan. The partnership is within the framework of the policy aiming to promote academic cooperation between the two countries.
