On 21 September, the results of the All-Russian competition of youth projects were announced. Among the winners were four participants from the Voronezh Region, and three of them are VSU students. The competition had a total of 18 nominations, and each project was assessed according to 10 criteria and a 10-point scale.

Students of our university who received micro-grants are leaders of clubs that form a part of the Joint Students’ Board of VSU. They worked on their projects as part of this board. The winners of the competition received congratulations from VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky. He talked about the concept of each project in detail with the students and wished them success in their further implementation. Ekaterina Tsebekova, head of the youth department, expressed her support for the students who are implementing their ideas. At the meeting with the rector, the leaders of the Joint Students’ Board outlined the main goals of their projects.

Ekaterina Burdovitsyna is the founder of the “Career Growth” project. In the Joint Students’ Board she is the head of the student career club. Ekaterina was the winner in the #create_opportunities category. The goal of her project is to raise awareness of young people regarding their employment. To do this, Ekaterina decided to record a series of podcasts “Student to student” and organise events aimed at young people aged 18–25 who are seeking employment. She was given a micro-grant of 100,000 roubles in order to implement the project. In the future, Ekaterina is planning to cover more regions of the country and create her own bank of methodologies on competent career building.

Nikita Shelopugin is the creator of another project in the #create_opportunities nomination. He is deputy chairman for the Joint Students’ Board. Nikita created the student interaction project “Night University” that aims to involve students in extracurricular, educational, and career activities of the university in an adaptive manner. As part of this project, participants can meet employing companies, student self-governance, lecturers, and speakers who explain things in a new way. They can also meet new people depending on their interests, regardless of their faculty and year. Nikita won a microgrant of 99,830 roubles.

“It’s nice that three of the four Voronezh winners are students of our university. My next goal is to win a 1 million grant and scale up the project,” said Nikita.

Nikita Evstigneev, the author of the project for the student IT conference “CodoCon”, won in the #contribution_to_the_future nomination. He is the head of human resources at the Joint Students’ Board. The event offered by Nikita provides a unique opportunity to learn more about IT companies, gain valuable knowledge from experts, and participate in computer competitions and games. As part of the project, Nikita is planning to organise a series of IT lectures, a GraphWar tournament, and an IT recruitment fair. To implement this idea, Nikita won a micro-grant of 90,370 roubles.

All three unique projects were created as part of the Joint Students’ Board. They will help students from universities of Voronezh and other regions to take their first steps in building a successful career while still studying.
