On 25 March, second year students from the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism (Tourism programme) took part in a large-scale event, the “Travel Industry” Spring–2024 workshop. The meeting was held in the conference hall of the Mercure Voronezh Centre Hotel. The event was organised by the Turbiznes media holding.
“Such events provide all the participants with a unique opportunity to meet, to discuss new trends in tourism, to get acquainted with innovative products, and to strengthen business ties,” said Elena Podobed, senior lecturer at the Department of Recreational Geography, Regional Studies, and Tourism at the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism.
During the workshop, Russian tour operators MultiTour, Amigo-S, Mantera Travel, and Satguru Travel presented popular programmes both in the domestic market and abroad. Among the speakers of the event were also representatives of the National Online Hotel Booking System Bronevik.com, who presented consolidated statistics for domestic tourism in 2023 collected by MTS depersonalised Big Data analysis.
“Thanks to this event, we could see how tour operators present their tourism products, which is undoubtedly an important aspect of working in the travel industry. We also learned about the currently demanded destinations,” said Timofey Karaulov, a second year student and a participant of the event.
