On 4th December, the traditional folkloristic conference Russian Fairy Tale Festival was held in Voronezh State University. Students and professors of the Faculty of Philology made the audience plunge into the world of Russian folk tale and get a feeling of identity and uniqueness of local folklore.
The event was dedicated to a well-known Voronezh narrator of folk tales Anna Nikoleyevna Korolkova. The guests had a chance to see rare photographs and read newspaper clips illustrating the life and works of the Voronezh narrator, and praise the acting talents of the students of the Faculty of Philology. The audience and the judging panel enjoyed watching five fairy tales.
Foreign students presented an original direction of the folk tale Soft Round Bun. Traditional fairy tale characters - the old man and the old woman were dressed in Chinese folk costumes and instead of Hare, Wolf and Bear Kolobok (or soft round bun) met Monkey, Leopard and Panda. The famous Kolobok's song was performed in Chinese to the accompaniment of erhu.
