On 6th February, University dormitory № 7 housed a Foreign Friend event, organised by students of the Faculty of Journalism and International Education Department of Voronezh State University. Among participants were Russian and foreign students from such countries as Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Palestine, Turkey, Madagascar, China, Congo and others. Most of the students had left Voronezh for their winter holidays, yet the event gathered about 60 people.
For the first time, this event which is aimed at helping students from different countries meet each other and start communication has been organised in the dormitory. The warm and friendly atmosphere encouraged students to get to know each other, participate in competitions, and perform national dances and songs. The evening finished with a group photo shoot and a disco.
'We are planning to organise another concert in spring, on 1st April, and encourage more students to participate. Such events both improve the image of the Faculty of Journalism and International Education Department and build up VSU's reputation as an international institution,' said one the event's organisers, a student of the Faculty of Journalism, Anna Mezinova.
