In accordance with the extra-curricular activities plan of the Institute of International Education's Department of the Russian language for international students of Voronezh State University in the framework of academic introductory training; foreign students headed by a senior lecturer of the department Raisa Firsova went on a sightseeing trip to the North Caucasus (the city of Kislovodsk).
Interns from Great Britain, Germany, France and Estonia visited Pyatigorsk, Medovie Vodopady waterfalls and the Castle of Love and Deceit. They found the trip to the Dombai mountains most enjoyable. Having reached a height of 3,012 meters they had a chance to marvel at breath taking views as well as go skiing and snowboarding.
VSU foreign students were impressed by a Cossack's dwelling where the interns tried traditional Russian food, traditional costumes, and took part in a match-making ceremony. They also rode horses, took medicinal baths, and tried mineral water. The students enjoyed the trip – now they know more about Russian nature, traditions and culture.
