On 18 May, a delegation from “Goce Delcev” University (Shtip, Macedonia) visited VSU within the framework of the International scientific conference "Man in the Global World". The guests were welcomed by the VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky. He told them about the history of the University, its graduates (the Nobel-prize laureates), about the education and social life at VSU, and its international projects.
– “Voronezh State University is actively collaborating with many universities in the USA, Europe, and China. We have also many international students studying here. Since 1960, about 25 thousand international students have graduated from VSU. We are eager to collaborate in many spheres, such as academic exchange programmes, joint education projects and programmes, teaching Russian as a foreign language, etc. Considering that Macedonia has joined the Gazprom international Turkish Stream project, it is going to need Russian-speaking specialists. I believe that during your visit we will determine certain areas for partnership with your university” – said Dmitry Endovitsky.
– “Russian is the second most popular language (after English) in our university. Over 450 students of the Faculty of Philology study Russian. We've long been thinking about opening a Department of Russian Language. The Faculty of Philology organises many cultural events. We could organise various events in order to encourage students' interest in Russian language and culture. We have a lot of opportunities and very good prospects for future partnership” – said Jovanka Denkova, Dean of the Faculty of Philology.
