On 12 October, Voronezh State University Rector Dmitriy Endovitskyy and Head of VSU's Information Technology Division Alexey Prokhorchenko met the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics. At the meeting, rector Endovitskyy was given a demonstration of a trial version of a mobile application for students and staff members of our university.
This project started in May and was headed by Dmitriy Panychev. The application has an iOS and an Android version. The audience will get access to the news feed from VSU's official website. The students will also be able to customise the application and track the changes in their timetable and alter it themselves. Besides, they will get notifications of any changes in their class schedule. All the users will have access to up-to-date information about the events planned by the university.
The official launch of the application is scheduled for 17 December and it will then be available for free download from AppStore or Google play, offering a user-friendly interface for everyday life and academic activities.
The development of a mobile application is part of the university's strategic development programme for 2015–2016.
