On 16 April, Voronezh State University presented another lecture within the project “Saturday University”. Dmitry Lubashevsky, a lecturer of the Department of Nuclear Physics of the Faculty of Physics talked about "Realities and sensations of the large hadron collider". Traditionally, the audience included Voronezh schoolchildren who came to the main university building of Voronezh State University and children from Rossosh who gathered in front of a screen located in the ICT room of school № 9 in Rossosh.

The lecturer gave a basic insight into the Universe and explained such concepts as "dark matter" and "dark energy". To make it easier for the audience to understand such subtle aspects, the lecturer gave a brief overview of modern physics of elementary particles (standard model) and quantum physics. Additionally, he talked briefly about the basic specifications of the most well-known accelerators in physical media. He also explained the goals and tasks set for the large hadron collider. The concluding part of the lecture was dedicated to the possible disastrous consequences related to how it works and criticisms of it.

The lectures take place at 15.00 in room 439 of the main building of Voronezh State University. The lectures are open to pupils of 8th–11th forms and intellectually curious adults.
