The Mother Tongue Day at the Faculty of Philology

On 14 April, the Mother Tongue Day was held at the Faculty of Philology of Voronezh State University. Among the participants of the event were VSU students and foreign students of Voronezh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Burdenko Voronezh State Medical University. The participants represented 17 countries of the world: Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, India, China, Congo, the USA, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Senegal, France, Spain, Germany and others. They told the guests about their national languages, music, dances, and songs.

The event started with a poem by Alexandre Pushkin "A magic moment I remember..." that was read in the students' national languages - Russian, English, French, Ukrainian, Turkmen, Thai, Arab, Spanish, Chinese, and German.

A student of Voronezh State Medical University from India read his own poem about his country.

Students from Turkmenistan, Columbia, and Thailand performed their national dances. The evening finished with a song called "World peace" by a student from China.

All participants and guests of the event received souvenirs.
