This year, students of Voronezh State University took part in qualifying stages of the international information technologies Olympics "IT-Planet 2015/2016" that includes contests within the most advanced areas of Information and Communication Technologies. In total, over 14,000 students and young specialists with a degree from 14 countries participated in qualifying stages of the event. The experts of the event were specialists of the organising companies and employees of federal and regional specialised companies and institutions.
A fourth year student of the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Oleg Shipilov, demonstrated impressive results in the qualifying stages of the Olympics and took the fourth place for the Central Federal District in the contest "Programming: SQL". Now he will represent our university in the international final that will be held between 27 and 30 May in Ekaterinburg at Ural Federal University, named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.
Among the participants of the final will be over 300 young IT specialists under 26 year old from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan who were the best in the qualifying stages in nominations for "Programming", "Databases", "Telecom", "Mobile Platforms", "Digital Creative Work", "Copyleft Software and Robotics", and "Computerised Information Systems".
"IT-Planet" Olympics is implemented in line with the Plan of National and International Events of Public Interest of the Department for State Policy in Upbringing Children and Youth of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
