On September 1st, Voronezh State University welcomed its students. Thousands of first-year students have for the first time entered the lecture halls and received their student ID cards.
Rector Dmitry Endovitsky congratulated them on “Knowledge Day” and invited to join the celebration. A concert by the Voronezh Philharmonic Hall brass band and the “Cover Brothers” cover band, held at the entrance of the main building, was the university’s present to its students. The organisers of the concert and the musicians managed to create a very lively and cheerful atmosphere. Everyone danced and enjoyed themselves.
Apart form the concert there was another surprise, a present from the university’s canteen – baked stuffed pastries pirozhki, or “nanopirozhki” as the rector called them.
